GROUND UPDATE : Ground update for Saint-Cloud and ParisLongchamp tracks
The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend starts on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Saint-Cloud racecourse with a card that features two Group 1 races for Purebred Arabians and a Group 3 for English Thoroughbreds.
It continues on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, at ParisLongchamp, with ten Group 1 races, including the two flagship events : the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and the Qatar Arabian World Cup.
Ahead of the weekend, Charles de Cordon, clerk of the course at both racecourses, has provided a preliminary update on track conditions at the Saint-Cloud and ParisLongchamp racecourses.
1 – Weather forecast for the coming days in the Paris region :
There has been no rainfall since heavy showers were recorded on Wednesday, September 24, in the Paris region (9 mm).
Currently, the forecast for the weekend remains unsettled.

GROUND THIS MONDAY :
On Monday, September 29, 2025, at 9h30, the penetrometer at the Saint-Cloud racecourse read 3,7 - SOFT.
SAINT-CLOUD Forecast:
The ground until Friday, 3 October is expected to be 3,5 – SOFT to 3,4 GOOD SOFT.
For Friday’s race meeting, the rail will be positioned at 12 metres.
3 – Ground update for ParisLongchamp
Race meetings on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, 5 October, 2025
GROUND THIS MONDAY :
On Monday, September 29, 2025, at 9h30, the penetrometer at the ParisLongchamp track read 3,7 – SOFT and the Going Stick gave a reading of 7,2 - GOOD TO SOFT.
DAILY TRACK MAINTENANCE REPORT FOR PARISLONGCHAMP :
The grass will be cut to a height of 9 cm for the final time on Friday, October 3.
No watering is scheduled during the week or over the weekend.
- Saturday, October 4 :
The rail will be positioned at 15 metres.
There will be no open stretch.
Expected going :
Penetrometer : 3,5 to 3,4 – SOFT to GOOD SOFT.
Going Stick : 8 - GOOD.
- Sunday, October 5 :
The Rail will be moved back to 0 metres across the entire track for the whole meeting.
On this day, the final straight will feature the open stretch, a 6-metre-wide inner corridor starting 450 m from the finish line.
Expected ground:
Penetrometer : 3,5 to 3,4 - SOFT to GOOD SOFT. If it should rain 3,9 – VERY SOFT.
Going Stick : GOOD to SOFT, SOFT.
