A provisional Slip Rail for Turf races at Deauville

A provisional slip rail has been set up for races which are scheduled to take place on the round course on the turf track during the Deauville October meeting.
The turf regrowth has been insufficient in some areas of the turf course even though, as it is done every year, it was reseeded right after the last race meeting at Deauville in August. Low temperatures at night during the month of September has led to a delay in the growth of the grass in certain areas and particularly along the rail on both bends and in the back straight.
The decision was made to set the rail at 9 meters in the back straight and in both bends to offer the most homogeneous track for the races which are to take place on the turf on the round course.
As a result, a slip rail has been set up on the last bend approximately 400 m. (two furlongs out) from the finish line. Competitors will thus be able to use the entire width of the track in the final stretch.
The races which are impacted by such measure are:
Monday 20th October
P732 / Darley Prix des Réservoirs (Group 3 – 2yo – 1600m)
P733 / Prix Vulcain (Listed – 3yo – 2500m)
Wednesday 22nd October
P1094 / Prix de Saint-Désir (Unraced – 2yo Colts – 1600m)
P1095 / Prix d’Hotot-en-Auge (Unraced – 2yo Fillies – 1600m)
