Critérium de Saint-Cloud: Aidan O’Brien strikes again!

Just one hour after the Critérium International, it was once again an Aidan O’Brien-trained runner who came out on top—this time in the Critérium de Saint-Cloud. Pierre Bonnard (Camelot) delivered a commanding victory in this Group 1 for two-year-olds run over 2,000 metres. Ridden by Christophe Soumillon, he finished two lengths ahead of A Boy Named Susie, trained by none other than one of Aidan O’Brien’s sons, Donnacha. The French colt Proof completed the podium in third. This marks the 25th Group 1 victory of the year for the Irish trainer, who commented: “Obviously, he’s a Derby horse. We’ll start the 2026 season with a Derby trial, and all he should do is get better. He’s a beautiful horse with a long stride and a beautiful mind. He stays very well, so he’s very exciting for next year.”
