A new set of rules for the 2024/2025 Polytrack Challenge
Hosted for the first time during the 2023/2024 winter season at Deauville with the finals at Cagnes-sur-Mer, the « Polytrack Challenge » received a positive and warm welcome from owners and trainers. The challenge is renewed again this coming 2024/2025 winter season with some adjustments to its rules regarding the allocation of points and the two bonuses. The official sponsor remains Martin Collins whose brand Polytrack equips racecourses with the All-Weather surface across France.
Within the « Polytrack Challenge », the two categories, the sprint/mile division and the intermediate/classic division, remain unchanged and each offer the sum of €40,000 to the winners of each division.
Scale of points for the « Polytrack Challenge » 2024/2025
Races | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th |
Prix Irish River Prix Luthier Prix Lyphard Prix Arcangues | 50 points | 30 points | 15 points | 10 points | 5 points |
Prix Saonois Grand Prix de la Riviera Côte d’Azur | 70 points | 40 points | 20 points | 15 points | 10 points |
In addition to this new scale, a new rule will apply to win the bonus. The horse who finished 1st or 2nd in either division needs to have run at least two “Challenge” races including the final for the owner to get the bonus.
If a horse who has finished 1st or 2nd of its division does not fulfil this condition, the bonus which should have gone to his/her owner will not be awarded to the horse 1/ next in the overall ranking and 2/ who meets this condition.
The owner of a horse who has won one of the two divisions of the Polytrack Challenge wins the bonus of €30,000 and the owner of the horse who has finished 2nd of each division wins the bonus of €10,000. If two horses obtain the same number of points for 1st place, the owners share the sum of €40,000. If two horses obtain the same number of points for 2nd place, the owners share the sum of €10,000; the winner keeps the sum of €30,000.
The same horse can score points in each of the two Challenges and potentially win the two bonuses.
