The Parisian turf season opens on Sunday March 10th with the first Saint-Cloud meeting of the year. Two Listed events will take place then but the first steps on the classic path follow up next Sunday.

Many ways lead to the French classics, The Emirates Poules d’Essai des Poulains (French 2,000 Guineas, Gr1) and the "Pouliches" (French 1,000 Guineas, Gr1), on May 12th at ParisLongchamp, the QIPCO Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby, Gr1), on June 2nd at Chantilly, and the June 16 Prix de Diane Longines (French Oaks, Gr1), with the Bastille Day ParisLongchamp showdown, the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (Gr1). However, most still use the main prep races, which are detailed here for the 2019 season ...
