A Truly… Gran Diose Event

A Truly… Gran Diose Event
It’s time for final adjustments! This Saturday, Auteuil will host the final leg of the Grand Steeple-Chase Masters, the Prix Ingré. This Group 2 race will mark the seasonal debut of Gran Diose. The towering chaser, trained by Louisa Carberry and owned by the Hinderzé family and Luc Monnet, is none other than the winner of both the 2024 Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris and its autumn counterpart, the Prix La Haye Jousselin.
Gran Diose's main rival is Diamond Carl, who races in the colours of the Papot family under the training of François Nicolle. Diamond Carl returned to the spotlight at the end of last year with a victory in the Prix Georges Courtois, following a lengthy absence from competition.
Finally, Kaadam, last season’s standout among his generation, will face his elders for the second time. His first encounter with the elite older horses resulted in a runner-up finish in the Prix Troytown, the second leg of the Grand Steeple-Chase Masters. Naturally, he is expected to have progressed since that seasonal reappearance.
Also on Sunday’s Auteuil card:
- La Grande Course de Haies de Printemps
The true hurdle equivalent of the Prix du Président, this Group 3 handicap has attracted 19 starters, including Kapteen, a challenger coming straight from the Czech Republic.
- Prix Girofla and Prix Go Ahead
The first black-type hurdle races for 3-year-olds. Spotlight will be on Delmegan among the fillies and The Mighty Celt among the colts.
- Prix Roger Duchêne – Grand Prix des Jeunes Jockeys
A heartfelt tribute to Roger Duchêne, who tragically passed away at Auteuil. This race is reserved for young jockeys under the age of 25 who have not yet reached 50 wins.
- Prix Gérald de Rochefort
A Listed hurdle race for 4-year-olds, where the undefeated Leader Sport, who boasts two wins from as many starts, is highly anticipated.
