Online bidding system in claiming races extended to Premium Meetings*
System now available in all Premium Meetings
The trial period of the new online bidding system in claiming races has been a great success. Launched in December 2024 at several racecourses (Auteuil, Chantilly, Deauville and Cagnes-sur-Mer), this new feature is fully in line with France Galop’s objective of improving the digital services available to racing stakeholders.
As announced, from Monday, 10 March 2025, the online bidding system in claiming races will be extended to all Premium Meetings registered in the official fixture list.
In addition, the system will also now be available to owners, trainers, jockeys and amateur riders, licensed by a foreign racing authority and issued with a login code for the France Galop Pro website.
Until now, this feature, accessible on the France Galop Pro website, was only available to French license holders.
France Galop would kindly ask its stakeholders to favour online bidding for claiming races, as it offers greater security thanks to the identification of the person submitting the bid.
Successful trial period
This new service had been eagerly awaited by racing stakeholders who were quick to adopt it. Already on the 4th of December 2024, the first day of the online bidding process, a horse was successfully claimed via an online bid!
Three months after the launch, online bids account for 45.5 % of bids made in claiming races and account for the majority of bids made in claiming races at the Chantilly racecourse.
Transition to 100 % digital
From next September, this system will replace paper claiming forms and will go completely digital.
France Galop is committed to modernising its services and making certain procedures easier for racing stakeholders.
