May 1st at Saint-Cloud: the Prix du Muguet takes centre stage

As tradition dictates, Saint-Cloud hosts on May 1st the aptly named Prix du Muguet (Group 2). This major mile event for older horses has attracted seven runners. Among them are two representatives of Wertheimer & Frère: No Lunch, who has impressed in recent months on the all-weather, and Silius, a recent third in the Prix Edmond Blanc (Group 3), run over this very course on March 29. Both are trained by Christophe Ferland.
The opposition will be led by two foreign contenders: Germany’s Next Mine, already a winner at this level, and Seagulls Eleven, who, after racing in England, the United States and Australia, will now make his debut in France.
Immediately after this race, at precisely 4:25 pm, the other highlight of the day will take place: the Prix Allez France, a Group 3 reserved for fillies and mares aged four and over. This race pays tribute to the champion Allez France, notably winner of the Prix de Diane (1973) and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (1974). For this new edition, nine runners are set to go to post. The race will allow several contenders to make their seasonal reappearance, including Cankoura, third in the 2025 Prix de Diane Longines and absent since August 24, and Sunly, winner of the Prix Cléopâtre (Group 3), not seen since finishing second in the Cygames Prix de Malleret (Group 2) on July 13.
