€150,000 Orcada 4yo Chase (Gr3): Juntos Ganamos feeling Jazzy

Saturday, October 14, 2023, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris) - After falling in his comeback race in the The Fellow Marquise de Moratalla 4yo Chase (Gr3), the AQPS Juntos Ganamos (Martaline) had remained an undefeated chaser until then. He started as the favourite to regain his title over the €150,000 Orcada 4yo Chase (Gr3) for new trainer Cédric Boutin, now racing in the colours of Alain Jathière. Carrying 11st (a hefty weight by French standards), he ran over at the main open-ditch in the back straight while trailing several lengths behind the frontrunner Jazzy Senam (Jeu St Eloi). Nonetheless, he managed to catch up with her between the final two jumps and surged to a highly deserved victory, crossing the finish line with a length and a half advantage over the filly. Eight lengths behind, the returning Jardin d’Arthel (Cokoriko) secured third place ahead of the gallant Jazz Manouche (Nom de D'Là), who had been at the forefront throughout the race.
Juntos Ganamos was bred by Magalen Bryant, who sold him in May 2022 for €45,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock. His yearling brother by Saint des Saints was auctioned for €85,000 in November to SAS Saubouas Bloodstock at Deauville.
