After her fantastic win in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks Thursday, Sea Of Class (Sea The Stars) became the new favourite for the next Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe according to the bookmakers. The filly arrived in William Haggas’ stables during the month of December of her 2yo year and started in April, during the Craven meeting. The trainer had decided not to go on the Oaks, wait for a Listed and then race the Irish Oaks, which she brilliantly won. William Haggas told the British media: “She was impressive. Sea of Class has such a turn of foot and always canters easily. She is not entered in the Arc for the moment. And I am saying for the moment. She was supposed to stay in training at 4yos. But if she wins something really big, everything can change.” But Sea Of Class likes light ground. The soft and even heavy ground in October can be a disadvantage… This is why she is offered between 4 and 5/1 at the bookmakers. On the 7th October, at ParisLongchamp, she could well confront the very good Cracksman (Frankel) and the champion and title holder, Enable (Nathaniel).
Lah Ti Dar (Dubawi) could also be one of the competitors for this year’s edition of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. After her amazing success in the Sir Henry Cecil Galtree Stakes (L), her jockey Lanfranco Dettori suggested the St Leger as an aim for the filly. But the bookmakers see even further away. The filly stands between 7 and 10/1 for the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Compared to Sea of Class, the soft ground of October would suit her. Her dam, Dar Re Mi (Singspiel), had won the Qatar Prix Vermeille (Gr1) at ParisLongchamp, before being downgraded by the stewards.
