The Poule d’Essai des Poulains (French 2,000 Guineas, Gr1) and the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1,000 Guineas, Gr1), run on Sunday, May 13 at ParisLongchamp, are sponsored by the United Arab Emirates under the international title The Emirates.

The purse for these two races has been raised to €600,000 and €500,000 thanks to the support of the United Arab Emirates, where some of the biggest breeders and owners in the world live. The French Colts’ Classic is the best paid Guineas in Europe, as the British and Irish equivalents offer respectively €569,000 and €400,000.

From 2021, thanks to this renewed partnership, the purses will again be raised to €650,000 and €550,000. The President of the UAE Cup, an international Arab horses championship, endowed by the United Arab Emirates with €100,000, is also on the program.

These French version British "Guineas" will be held for the first time at ParisLongchamp, which has been inaugurated Sunday, April 29, after two years of renovation works.

€100,000 for the European Cup of Arab Horses

The UAE partnership will also focus on the European Arabian Horse Cup, a Group 1 race for purebred Arab horses. Stage of the International Challenge The President of the UAE Cup Series, this event last year saw its total purse increase from €30,000 to €100,000 thanks to the support of the Emirates, thus becoming one of the most generous events for the Arabian horses aged 4 and over in Europe.

An ambitious communication plan

The Emirates will also promote the event in Paris with a large billboard display that begins in early May around the Champs-Elysees and on several strategic axes around the city.
