A superb grand finale

Metasequoia - crédit Scoopdyga
Auteuil will deliver its final performance this Sunday, 7 December. Four Group races and four Listed events are on the programme. In the past, this meeting was said to be made up of consolation races. The beaten horses from the major contests of the 48h de l’Obstacle would meet there in the hope of securing a fine victory. But now these consolation races have become real objectives, and the beaten runners from the great races are not often present. This is the case, for example, of Isabelle Pacault’s favourite horse, Metasequoia, who avoided the Prix La Haye Jousselin (Group 1).
In the Prix Georges Courtois (Group 2), he can rely on his strong finishing kick and his freshness to prevail against very good chasers such as Brexit, winner of the Prix Richard et Robert Hennessy (Group 3), Karré d’As, impressive in the Prix Fondeur (Group 3), and Incollable, fifth in the La Haye Jousselin.
In the Prix Léon Olry-Roederer (Group 2), the consistent Isis d’Inor, bred and owned by Dr. Dominique Eustache, could be rewarded for her good performances with a prestigious victory. In the Prix Morgex (Group 3), even though the top 4-year-old steeplechasers will not be present, we will see on track future contenders for the Grand Steeple such as Hassadam, very unlucky last time but considered to have significant class, Altura, and Crown du Berlais, who will relish the heavy ground.
Finally, in the Prix André Michel (Group 3), the older mares will clash. The experienced Ci Ppo Ra and La Délirante will try to fend off Clarté du Sourire, who is on the rise.
