Sistercharlie enhanced her claim as one of the top French fillies in the Prix Pénélope, on Sunday at Saint-Cloud, and is now headed towards the Prix de Diane Longines.

Sunday, April 23, 2017, Hippodrome of Saint-Cloud. - Sistercharlie (Myboycharlie) won a very open renewal of the Prix Penélope (Gr3). Ridden by Maxime Guyon, who brought her closer to the pace in the turn to avoid being outpaced in the final stretch, the filly did indeed took over her six rivals to score by a length, the front-running second Listen In (Sea the Stars) keeping a nose on favourite Rythmique (Casamento) and a neck over Music Lover (Palace Episode).
Sistercharlie, fourth on her return in the Prix Rose de Mai (L), won her next race and on Sunday took her revenge on the three fillies ahead of her on March 11.
She was purchased €12,000 at the Arqana October Yearling Sale in 2015 by her owner Mrs Jacques Cygler, and is trained by one of the in-form rainers of the Spring in France, Henri-Alex Pantall. Her dam Starlet's Sister entered stud without racing as a sister to the good Leo's Starlet (Galileo) and Anabaa's Creation (Anabaa), both of Group level and out of the good First Creation (Green Tune).
Sistercharlie is now on her way towards the Prix de Diane Longines (Gr1).
Also on Sunday, the Prix Bango (AQPS-Gr3) is an important flat race for horses other than Thoroughbred (AQPS). 4yo gelding Do Not Disturb (Apsis), trained by Jean-Paul Gallorini in Maisons-Laffitte, prevailed again and is now unbeaten in two races over the flat after 6 unsuccessful attempts over hurdles.
The winner is owned by Mrs. Alexandrine Berger, who bred him with her father Jean-Louis Berger in the Center of France near Paray-le-Monial. He's the third and last foal out of Neige de Sormain, winner at Auteuil and sister to the champion chaser Kario de Sormain (Gunboat Diplomacy), also trained by Jean-Paul Gallorini for Zingaro stable, owned by famous equine showman Bartabas.
