September 12, 2021, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). - It was a very mixed field that Sagamiyra (Sea the Moon) beat in the 2021 Qatar Prix du Pin (Gr3), over 7 furlongs. The Aga Khan homebred 4-year-old filly had finished 2nd in both the Rothschild (Gr1) and the Bertrand du Breuil (Gr3), winning her 3rd race of the season and her first Group race.

Placed in second place behind Elusive Foot (Footstepsinthesand), who led the outside lane, while the inside lane was led by the Japanese raider Entscheiden (Deep Impact). Sagamiyra moved out entering the last, long straight and took over the leaders to win by a length, beating Axadavali (Goken), who had trailed her all the way, and fast finishers Speak of the Devil (Wootton Bassett) and Valloria (Dubawi).

Sagamiyra is the 3rd foal out of Saghaniya (Rock of Gibraltar), herself out of the Lagardère mare Saga d’Ouilly (Linamix), a full sister to Arc winner Sagamix, who won her only race over 11 furlongs at Niort, a provincial racecourse where her filly won her first race, over 1,500 metres, after two failures over longer trips. She then climbed the weights scale from a 71lbs rating to a 101lbs by winning three consecutive handicaps. A sister to Samaiyra named Sagama (Sinndar) was sold for €21,000 in 2019 in Deauville after winning once.
