October 21, 2021, Saint-Cloud Racecourse (Hauts-de-Seine). - Always brilliant at age 6, the gelding Magny Cours (Medaglia d’Oro) won his first Group race in the Prix Perth (Gr3), after finishing 2nd to subsequent Champion Stakes 2nd Dubai Honour in the Dollar (Gr2). For his return over the mile, the André Fabre-trained bay long waited in a race led by Century Dream (Cape Cross). Ridden by Mickaël Barzalona, Magny Cours took his time to reach momentum but finally took over the leader in a few strides. Also finishing well, Brentford Hope (Camelot) grabbed the 3rd place long coveted by Es La Vida (Soldier Hollow).

Homebred by Godolphin, Magny Cours hails from an all-American line, being by two Gr1 winners Stateside, Medaglia d’Oro and Indy Five Hundred (A P Indy), the latter having yet not given a foal as good as she was.
