October 10, 2021, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). - The top 4-year-old chasers are still out for a leader and almost every championship turns into a different finishing order. It was certainly the case of a struggle here in the Orcada 4yo Chase (Gr3), which finally went to L’Aubonnière (Doctor Dino), half a length ahead of a returning Youtwo Glass (Joshua Tree), who beat the top-weight Le Listrac (Balko) by one length ... The favourite Ladyville (Doctor Dino) unseated her rider after a mistake at the main open-ditch. As for Historien (Coastal Path), he led the race at a fast pace, sprinting into the River and the open-ditch, but still held on until the final hurdle.
It was a first Group and Auteuil win for L’Aubonnière, also her 3rd victory over jumps in twelve races. The Devin family homebred, however, was never further than 4th on this racecourse. She also finished 2nd in the Ferdinand Dufaure 4-year-old Chase (Gr1) won last Spring by Le Listrac.
L'Aubonniere is the last registered foal out of Turbotière (Turgeon), a Listed-winner, Group3-placed over the flat. At stud, she gave 7 winners, including three at Auteuil and Turboka (Kahyasi), dam of the British Gr1-winner A Plus Tard (Kapgarde).
