Sunday August 15, 2021, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). - Soon well placed behind the leader Citronnade (Lemon Drop Kid), Free Wind (Galileo) largely dominated the Prix Minerve (Gr3), the "Deauville Oaks", in the home stretch. Trained by John and Thady Gosden, she won by a length and a half over the favorite Burgarita (Sea The Stars), third previously in the Prix de Diane Longines (Gr1), who just held off a fast closing Adhafera (Sea the Stars).
Bred in Ireland by Sue Ann Foley, Free Wind was racing for the fifth time, and claimed her third victory for her first attempt at this level. She finished 2nd last tilme out in a Listed on fast ground at Newmarket. She was bought on behalf of her owner George Strawbridge by Blandford Bloodstock at Tattersalls for £ 325,000.
