Looking Ahead to the 48 Hours of Jump Racing

On Sunday, all eyes will turn to Auteuil for a meeting featuring several key trials ahead of the 48 Hours of Jump Racing! Eight races are on the card, with the first due off at 1:58pm.
Some of the best horses of their generation will be in action, just a few weeks before the major autumn meeting on 14th and 15th November.
Among the three-year-olds, attention will focus on the Prix Georges de Talhouët-Roy (Group 2), a trial for the Prix Cambacérès – Grande Course de Haies des 3 Ans (Group 1). The exciting Huron Bleu will be looking to maintain his unbeaten record. A winner on all three of his starts, he was particularly impressive when landing the Prix Robert Lejeune (Group 3) last time out. Another victory would further confirm his exceptional potential ahead of his main end-of-season target.
The three-year-old fillies will also have their opportunity to shine in the Prix Magne (Group 3), a stepping stone towards the Prix Magalen Bryant (Group 2). One of the main attractions will be Alice’s Saga, who is also unbeaten in three starts. However, she faces a new challenge as she makes her first appearance at Auteuil, giving her the chance to test herself against stronger opposition.
Over fences, the Prix Bayonnet (Listed) also deserves particular attention. This trial for the Prix Maurice Gillois – Grand Steeple-Chase des 4 Ans (Group 1) has attracted nine entries.
Another highlight of the afternoon will be the Prix Carmarthen (Group 3), which promises to be a fascinating contest. Open to horses aged five and over, this hurdle race serves as a trial for the Prix Serge Landon – Grand Prix d’Automne (Group 1). With Thélème and Losange Bleu among the leading names, it promises to be a top-class contest in its own right!
The programme will also provide an opportunity to discover some promising young talent. The Prix Noiro, a steeplechase for three-year-olds, will offer a chance to assess the progress of this generation over fences. Meanwhile, the Prix Beaurepaire, run over hurdles, will feature unraced three-year-olds, including several well-bred newcomers making their racecourse debuts.
The Prix Montgomery (handicap) is also on the card. Open to horses aged five and over, this race will be the day's Quinté+ contest, with 16 runners expected to line up.
