GRAND STEEPLE-CHASE MASTERS
The road leading to the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris !
The 5th renewal of the Grand Steeple-Chase Masters will officially launch on Saturday, 14 February 20206, marking the start of the 2026 jump season at the Auteuil racecourse.
The series consists of four trial races that lead to the Grand Steeple Chase de Paris, the ultimate challenge in jump racing, which will take place on Sunday, 17 May 2026 at the Auteuil racecourse.
As they gear up for this major event, which they want to reach in peak condition, the best horses, partnered by Europe’s leading jump jockeys, show off their abilities at each stage.
The Grand Steeple-Chase Masters program features two high-quality Grade 3 and two Grade 2 races.
Bonuses for connections
France Galop rewards exceptional performances in the Grand Steeple-Chase Masters with bonuses for the horses’ owners.
The first stage is the Prix Robert de Clermont-Tonnerre, with entries closing this Friday, 6 February 2026. Competing in this event or in any of the other stages of the Grands Steeple-Chase Masters gives owners the chance to earn attractive bonuses.
Connections of a horse that wins two of the four stages of the Grand Steeple-Chase Masters and goes on to also be successful in the 2026 Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, will receive an exceptional bonus of €150,000.
Furthermore, a horse that wins two trial races, the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris and the Prix La Haye Jousselin in the autumn, hence completing the Grand Slam of jump racing, will earn an additional bonus of €75,000, bringing the total bonus to €225,000. To date, only Sel Jem has achieved this Grand Slam in 2022!

- Grand Steeple-Chase Masters - Prix Ingré (Group 2) – Saturday 25th April
- Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris (Group 1) – Sunday 17th May

The racing season at the Auteuil racecourse starts on Saturday, 14 February
The first day of the Grand Steeple-Chase Masters on Saturday, 14 February 2026, also marks the reopening of the Auteuil racecourse following its winter break.

The Auteuil racecourse is ideally situated in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, making it easily accessible by Metro via the Porte d’Auteuil station. From its stand, it offers an impressive view of the races. For nearly 150 years, the track has played host to the world’s jump champions.
