Unfortunately confirmed in Deauville his Maisons-Laffitte success in Gr2-Robert Papin as he led his trainer Karl Burke's 1-2 in Gr1-Morny.

English trainer Karl Burke saddled the 2 first 2yo home in the Darley Prix Morny (Gr1), the main juvenile event of the Lucien Barrière meeting in Deauville. A winner over 5 1/2 fulrongs in the Prix Robert Papin (Gr2) at Maisons-Laffitte last month, Unfortunately (Society Rock) dominated once again with French jockey Tony Piccone up and the vizors fitted to him for the 2nd time. He left his stablemate  Havana Grey (Havana Gold) lead the way until 2 furlongs out, when Piccone started to push him forward to take over and keep all his rivals at bay to score byover one length. Havana Grey held on for 2nd, beating French fancy and Royal Ascot winner Different League (Dabirsim).

In a completeley different sport, over Darley Prix Kergorlay (Gr2)'s 3,000 meters trip, another British horse prevailed with Marmelo (Duke of Marmalade) and Christophe Soumillon keading all the way for trainer Hughie Morrison. Yet he had to fight to keep it up as French stayer Holdthasigreen (Hold That Tiger) and Tony Piccone pushed him early in the straight only to lose 2nd place close to the post and to the benefit of... a British runner, Desert Skyline (Tamayuz).
