Jump Racing Program to Feature Changes in 2025
The Jump Racing Board has approved two changes to the racing program that will take effect in the 2025 season.
Seasonality of Races
The jump racing season will evolve in line with climate and ecological developments. Following the conclusions of the working group dedicated to this subject and on the proposal of the Jump Racing Board, the following adjustments will be implemented:
- The reopening of Auteuil Racecourse is brought forward to Saturday, February 15, 2025, the day of the first stage of the 2025 Grand Steeple-Chase Masters, with the Prix Robert de Clermont-Tonnerre (Group 3).
- The Auteuil program will conclude on Saturday, May 31, 2025 (compared to June 25 2024), with a meeting featuring the Prix des Drags (Group 2), Prix La Barka (Group 3), Prix La Périchole (Group 3), Prix Questarabad (Group 3), and Prix Stanley (Listed).
- Two June meetings will be moved to Clairefontaine and Dieppe, and the third will be moved to the season's opening on February 15, 2025.
Under these conditions:
- The Pau meeting will begin on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, and end on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The 138th Grand Prix de Pau (Group 3) will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2025, and the Grand Cross de Pau (Listed) on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
- The Cagnes-sur-Mer meeting will take place from Monday, December 2, 2024, to Sunday, January 7, 2025. The Grand Prix de la Ville de Nice (Group 3) will take place on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
These adjustments are a first step. Other measures concerning the regional PMH meetings held during the summer period are being finalized for implementation in 2026 in consultation with the presidents of the racecourses concerned and the presidents of the regional councils and committees.
Regional Grand Steeplechase Program
To harmonize the program of regional Grand Steeplechases, the race conditions for 8 stages have been revised to allow horses to run in several Grand Steeplechases without penalty.
These races will be Class 1 level with a total purse of €67,000:
- Monday, April 8, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase de Toulouse
- Thursday, May 22, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase du Lion d'Angers
- Monday, June 9, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase de Dax
- Sunday, June 22, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase de Lyon
- Sunday, September 28, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase de Craon
- Wednesday, October 15, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase de Nantes
- Tuesday, November 11, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase d'Angers
- Saturday, November 22, 2025: Grand Steeple-Chase de Bordeaux
