It was at Leopardstown that the jumpers from France got the best results on Friday, December 27. A Plus Tard (Kapgarde) and Chacun Pour Soi (Policy Maker) took the first two places in a 2m1f Grade 1 chase. The former, only aged 5 and owned by Cheveley Park Stud, kept the favourite in check all the way to score by almost 4 lengths. It was a first seasonal appearance for Chacun pour Soi, defeater of the almighty Defi du Seuil at Punchestown in the Spring. A Plus Tard left France after winning a Listed Hurdle Race at Auteuil for her breeder Antonia Devin.

À Plus Tard's dam, Turboka (Kahyasi), did not win, but she is out of Turbotière (Turgeon), winner of three provincial Listed races and second in the Prix d'Hedouville (Gr3) over 1m1/2. She's a sister to Turbotin (Passing Sale), winner of a Prix Finot 3yo Hurdle (L) at Auteuil, from the same family as that of the Auteuil champions Ladykish (Comte du Bourg) and Turkish Junior (Comte du Bourg).

After A Plus Tard, Turboka gave Kap Auteuil (Kapgarde), still a maiden in britain, and File Au Poteau (Doctor Dino).

The other Group 1 on the program Friday at Leopardstown, the Future Champions Novices' Hurdle (Gr1), over 2 miles, returned to the favourite Abacadabras (Davidoff), who signed his fourth success in Ireland since he joined Gordon Elliott's yard for Gigginstown House Stud (Michael O'Leary). The 5-year-old was bred in Moselle by Evelyne van Haaren. Consigned by Sylvain Bosson at 3 at the Arqana Summer Sale, he was then sold for € 14,000.

His dam, the maiden mare Cadoubelle des As (Cadoudal) was nevertheles placed at Auteuil and then gave La Barakas (Davidoff), third in the Prix Duc d'Anjou Chase (Gr3) won by Goliath du Berlais, and a a third consecutive foal by Davidoff bred in 2016 and unraced to date, like his younger brother by Kamsin, and Kotkie des As (Katkou), her latest foal, born in 2019…
