Fontainebleau: Policy of Truth pays

Sunday, April 18, 2021, ParisLongchamp (Paris). - Three runners were running for the first time this season in the Prix de Fontainebleau (Gr3), a French 2,000 Guineas trial, and Policy of Truth (Siyouni) was the least favoured of the trio. The two others were the unbeaten Parchemin (Lope de Vega) and Sealiway (Galiway), who shared the votes of the punters. However, the stocky Critérium International (Gr1) 4th, who had previously won the Prix des Chênes (Gr3) on this same Parisian mile, took over Sealiway in the last furlong, after Parchemin had already folded. Without a clear run near -the rail at a decisive stage, Summiter (Bated Breath) finished well in 3rd, ahead of Easter (Exosphere), who came from nowhere and took some time to reach his momentum.

The "Fontainebleau" colts took 4 seconds less than the "Grotte" fillies to reach the post. Only one runner took less than 11’’ to cover the 2nd last fraction, and that is the winner. One could pretend that the timing being better and the margins wider in the colts' race, the test could have been more decisive. Yet that remains to be tested. Policy of Truth is an interesting individual, an impressive conformation able to reach fast speed. Who knows?

He was not that expensive since Pia Brand paid "only" €34,000 to secure him as a yearling at the Deauville sales, where he was consigned by Coulonces Sales. He won his second race and the previous co-owner sold his charge to Haras du Logis Saint-Germain, now associated with Pia Brandt.

Policy of Truth is in the Emirates Poule d’Essai and the Prix du Jockey Club.
