Sunday, June 19, 2022, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). Undefeated in two outings, the Aga Khan’s homebred Erevann (Dubawi) was the main attraction of Prix Paul de Moussac Longines (Gr3). He did not fail and held off a good Tribalist (Farhh), who had set the pace all the way. Out since March, Erevann won his first group and once again made the Aga Khan’s colours shine on a classic Sunday at Chantilly.

In a field of four, Tribalist quickly took the lead with Mickaël Barzalona, while Christophe Soumillon and Erevann first trailed him only to come alongside in the straight and finally take over after a long, fascinating duel. This is the fifth win in the race for Jean-Claude Rouget after Gold And Steel, Firebird, Xanadou and Zelzal, while the Aga Khan family had not won this race since Mannshour in 1978.

The winner’s dam Ervedya (Siyouni) was a true champion. Placed in the Prix Morny (Gr1) and the Prix Marcel Boussac (Gr1) at the age of 2, she won three Groups 1 the following year with the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (French 1,000 Guineas), the Coronation Stakes at Ascot, and the Qatar Prix du Moulin de Longchamp, also trained by Jean-Claude Rouget and ridden by Christophe Soumillon. Erevann is her second foal and her first Group winner.

Her own sister Elaya was sold for 260,000 euros to Katsumi Yoshida at the Arqana breeding sales in 2019.
