October 30, 2022, Chantilly Racecourse (Oise). – The three first fillies home in the Listed Prix Saraca (L), run three weeks prior on the same course and distance, again finished in the frame over the €80,000 Prix Miesque (Gr3) 7-furlong trip. This time, however, Eternal Dance (Dubawi) could not come back from the rear to win and had to be content with third place.
The Saraca second, Moon Ray (Saxon Warrior), once again beat Lady Mia (Outstrip), who had to be pushed hard to take the lead early in the race after being countered by the eventual unplaced British raider Crystallium (Expert Eye). The two fillies fought hard to the wire and were only separated by a nose, while Eternal Dance finished well at half a length.
It was Moon Ray's fourth attempt after her debut 3rd last Summer at Deauville over 1,300 metres and a 6-furlong victory at Chantilly, beating a filly who scored immediately after that. The. came the Prix Saraca...
Moon Ray is racing for RT Racing, and she's trained by Nicolas Clément. Bred by Team Hogdala and SMS Racing, she was bought for €55,000 by Tina Rau and her trainer at Arqana in October 2021. Her Postponed brother was sold a year later for €37,000 at the same venue, this time to Morten Buskop. Born in the USA, first trained in Briain, and eventually, a Listed winner in Sweden, their dam Demeanour (Giant’s Causeway) is also the dam of Swedish Dream (Helmet), another Listed-winner in Sweden.
