Sunday, August 11, 2024, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). – Always well placed behind the leader Comic Book (Frankel), the favourite Mosaïque (Dubawi) claimed her first major title in this €80,000 Prix Lady O'Reilly – Prix Minerve (Gr3), a race for 3-year-old fillies over 1 mile 4 1/2 furlongs. The Wertheimer homebred filly held off the strong finish of Le Combat Continue (De Treville), who finished second by nearly a length, with Vigatata (Sea the Moon) taking third at a head after racing alongside the leader, who finished fourth by less than a length.
Mosaïque was running in her seventh race, less than five months after her debut at Saint-Cloud. She won on her third attempt in mid-May over 1 mile 4 furlongs, again at Saint-Cloud, before finishing third in the Prix de Royaumont (Gr3), close behind Vigatata, and then winning the Darley Prix de Thiberville (L) at ParisLongchamp. She followed that with a second-place finish behind Survie in the Prix de Malleret (Gr2), and she secured her victory here.
Mosaïque is the third filly out of the excellent The Juliet Rose (Monsun), purchased for €650,000 at Arqana by Markus Jooste, a two-time winner of the Prix de Royallieu (Gr2) among other top performances, before being sold to the Wertheimers at the end of her racing career. Her second filly, a maiden by Sea the Stars, was bought by Écurie des Monceaux for €135,000 at Arqana last December. She then secured her fifth second-place finish and has since been retired from training. A colt by Dubawi, a full brother to Mosaïque, was born in 2023.
