Sunday, 3rd September 2023, Hippodrome ParisLongchamp (Paris) — Lastotchka (Myboycharlie), who had disappointed on her return in the Prix de Reux (Gr3) after a two-month absence, dominated the €80,000 Prix Gladiateur (Gr3) with an outstanding performance. She tracked the early leaders, Putumayo (Myboycharlie) and Rock Joyeux (Rock of Gibraltar), before pulling away in the final stage to win by two lengths over a brave Fasol (Galileo), who had been trailing closely behind.

Also initially held up, Moon Wolf (Intello) finished strongly to outperform Vert Liberté (Muhaarar) for third place narrowly.

The filly’s ownership includes Noël Forgeard, Pierre and Charles-Henri Bonnier, and breeder Touchstone alongside Philippe Stein. She’s the first foal out of Muthla (Muhtathir), a dual winner at Saint-Cloud over 1 mile 2 furlongs and 1 mile 4 furlongs, who was also entered in the Prix de Diane. Lastotchka was unsold at €590,000 at the 2022 Arqana breeding sales. This marked her fourth win, including a Group 3 victory at the end of last season after finishing second in the Prix de Malleret (Gr2). This was her first time racing over 1 mile 7 furlongs.

Her half-brother Mellah, by Brametot, remains a maiden, and another sibling, by Olympic Glory, is in training, like the others, with Jean-Marie Béguigné.
