Saturday, April 1, 2023, Saint-Cloud Racecourse (Hauts-de-Seine). - For his comeback, Tribalist (Farhh) achieved the greatest victory of his career in the Prix Edmond Blanc (Gr3). This was a highly anticipated event as it also featured The Revenant (Dubawi), who won on this racecourse for his comeback and also won this Group race in 2019 and 2022, as well as Facteur Cheval (Ribchester) and Rosacea (Soldier Hollow).
Taking advantage of his 1-draw, Tribalist (Farhh) quickly took the lead and never looked back. He finished strongly, crossing the finish line with a clear lead.
Caught off guard, the favourite The Revenant (Dubawi) closed in to take second place ahead of Facteur Cheval (Ribchester), who had not yet been seen this year. In a similar situation, Rosacea (Soldier Hollow) made an interesting final effort to finish fifth.
Bred by Car Colston Hall Stud, Tribalist (Farhh) was sold for 130,000 Guineas at Tattersalls by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock. His dam, Fair Daughter (Nathaniel), never ran. Tribalist is her first runner. His 3-year-old filly by Sea the Moon (Sea the Stars) is trained by Gavin Hernon and has just started her career with a sixth-place finish. The second dam, Wiener Wald (Woodman), directly foaled five black-type winners, including Racing Post Trophy (Gr1) winner Crowded House (Rainbow Quest).
In this family, there is also Prix Maurice de Gheest (Gr1) winner Brando (Pivotal), Ticker Tape (Royal Applause), winner of the American Oaks Invitational and the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (Gr1), and Reckless Abandon (Exchange Rate), undefeated at 2 years old in five starts, including the Prix Morny and the Middle Park Stakes (Gr1).
