Saturday, 30th September 2023, Hippodrome ParisLongchamp (Paris). – Winner of the €300,000 Qatar Prix du Cadran (Gr1) in 2021 against the formidable Stradivarius, Trueshan (Planteur), now 7 years old, has ascended to become one of Europe's premier stayers. Competing against a field of just five rivals two years after his initial win here, the representative of Singula Partnership this time led uncontested from start to finish over the 2 miles and 4 furlongs of the staying championship. Trained by Alan King, Trueshan surged in the final straight to maintain a four-length lead over Moon Wolf (Intello), who emerged as the best of the rest.
Bred in France by Didier Blot, Trueshan was sold as a yearling at Osarus in 2017 for €8,000 before being resold a year later for £31,000 at the Tattersalls breeze-up sales to Highflyer and his current trainer.
Trueshan stands out as the finest in his lineage. He is the eleventh foal out of Shao Line (General Holme), a dual claimer winner who has given three foals since Trueshan: a maiden gelding by Sommerabend, a Planteur filly and a Golden Horde filly.
