Saturday, 30th September 2023, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). – Third in the Qatar Prix Vermeille (Gr1) and arguably reaching the peak of her form now, the visiting English mare Sea Silk Road (Sea the Stars) utterly dominated the field of fourteen fillies and mares gathered over the 1 mile and 6 furlongs of the Qatar Prix de Royallieu (Gr1), breaking the course record in the process.

The race was a bit shambolic, and the winner wasn't spared her share of mishaps. Initially held back, she was caught up on the wrong straight and spent considerable effort navigating around those ahead of her. However, once she found clear running, she quickly took over, pulling away to win by three lengths over the outsider Diva Donna (Cima de Triomphe), who had also come from well off the pace. Diva Donna has gradually climbed the ranks and finds this to be one of her most significant accomplishments at a high level.

Ever in touch, La Mehana (Al Wukair) finishes a respectable third, a good length ahead of a brave Rue Boissonade (Seabhac), ridden outside.

The winning mare's yearling full sister will be up for sale at Tattersalls starting on October 3rd.
