Saturday, November 11, 2023, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). The traditional 3-year-old fillies Auteuil championship over hurdles, the €183,000 Prix Bournosienne (Gr2), was renamed Haras d’Étreham Prix Magalen Bryant (Gr2). Nine contenders took to the start, with five offered at less than 9/1 in the betting. The race was thus wide open.

Leading the field was Kaline des Boullat (Jeu St Eloi), followed by Celty du Kalon (Muhtathir), then the favourite, Kiara Diamond (Diamond Green), and Kamsinea (Kamsin), who was only in her second race, a month after her victorious debut on this very course in a race for beginners, also marking the first win at Auteuil for her trainer, Elizabeth Allaire. In the back straight, Maskaya (Masked Marvel) had closed in on the leading four, and as the field began to thin out from the remaining fillies, Celty du Kalon still led in the last turn, with an ambitious Kara Diamond and Kaline des Boullat taking Maskaya and Kamsinea along. In the final phase, it was Kamsinea who proved superior. The Catherine Coiffier homebred would take the lead over Kara Diamond to win by ten lengths, while Maskaya snatched second place from Kara Diamond, who just managed to hold off Celty du Kalon.

The winner's dam, Tabanea (Martaline), won a single race, over the flat at Gemozac over 1m6f. Bred by Haras du Camp Bénard, she comes from the same family as the champion mare Magic Night, whose second dam is the fourth dam of Kamsinea. The latter's second dam, Musimara (Margouillat), is a Listed winner, also placed in the Prix Imprudence (L), today a Group 3 race.

Kamsinea is the third foal out of Tabanea after a 5-year-old unraced Sri Putra mare and a 4-year-old Full of Gold filly, both bred by Thierry Joire, the mare's owner. Kamsinea is the first foal of the mare bred by Catherine Coiffier before two consecutive Masked Marvel fillies.
