Thursday, September 19, 2024, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). - The female version of the Prix Robert Lejeune (Gr3) won by Djin's less than two hours earlier, the €135,000 Prix de Chambly 3yo Fillies Hurdle Race (Gr3) was dominated practically from start to finish by the favourite Olympic Glory (Masked Marvel). Still, the extravagance of this victory may have left its mark, and the 2nd Zaine (Saint des Saints), who had raced more cautiously, almost threatened the winner, who finally won only by a neck. Meanwhile, the 3rd Shika du Berlais (Born to Sea) finished ten lengths behind the first two. This shows the relentless pace of the race, completed in a kilometre reduction of 1'7''3, a second faster than the males, who had not spared the ground either.
Olympic Glory remains undefeated in three outings, six months after her victorious debut in the Prix Géographie and the confirmation of the Prix Auricula.
Nicolas Bertran de Balanda bought Olympic Story for €95,000 yearling at the Auctav online sales. Bred by Jean-Michel and Corinne Tessier, she was presented by Haras de Clairefontaine. She is the 2nd product of the good Kapkiline (Kapgarde), 3rd in a Prix Ferdinand Dufaure (Gr1), on the steeplechase of Auteuil at four years old. The dam is a product of Haras des Coudraies and descends from the same line as the crack Kotkijet.
On the other hand, the younger sister of Olympic Story, Maskiline (Masked Marvel), did not find a buyer at the same sales a year later. A daughter of Doctor Dino was born last year, and another signed Masked Marvel this year.
