Sunday 22 August 2021, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). - Three times second this season after finishing fifth in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr1), Raabihah (Sea the Stars) brilliantly returned to success over 1m4f in the Darley Prix de Pomone (Gr1). The Shadwell homebred, trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, travelled in fourth in this field of six fillies and mares and she gained the upper hand at mid-straight to beat by two and a half lengths one of the two 3-year-olds at the start, Joie de Soir (Fastnet Rock), 2nd, a short neck ahead of Valia (Sea the Stars) -the start had been delayed for a few moments due to a technical issue with the starting stalls, and Valia missed the signal.
Raabihah, winner of the Prix de Psyché (Gr3) at the start of the Deauville meeting last year over 1m2f, is out of the unraced Garmoosha (Kingmambo), herself out of the Oaks winner Eswarah (Unfuwain), whose dam is no other than the Epsom Classic and One Thousand Guineas victor, the great Midway Lady (Alleged).
