Sunday, September 5, 2021, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). - Fourth in the Prix du Jockey Club last year, Dawn Intello (Intello) returned to victory over the Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte (Gr3)'s 1m2f after his worse result of the season this summer in Deauville over an extended 1m1/2 trip.

His rider Olivier Peslier rode him aggressively and immediately placed Andreas Schütz's trainee in the lead despite his 6 draw, and he led the field trailed by Kenway (Galiway) and Algiers (Shamardal). Challenged from all sides in the midstretch, the chestnut horse stayed on gamely, however, and ended up winning rather easily, three parts of a length ahead of Seachange (Siyouni) and Kenway, a further length behind. The favourite Wally, who was carrying two kilos and had already won five times this season, couldn't make any progress from the rear.

Bred in France by Viktor Timoschenko, Dawn Intello was sold as a yearling for € 57,000 to Rabbah Bloodstock. He thus began his career for Jaber Abdullah and won his only outing at 2 over 9 furlongs. Prepared then for the Prix du Jockey Club, he finished fourth to Mishriff that day and finished in the top four of all his subsequent outings. However, he had just finished 9th over the 2,500 meters of the Prix de Reux (Gr3).

Dawn Intello's dam, Gadalka (Giant’s Causeway), was already racing for Viktor Timoschenko. She did not manage to win but she is a daughter of the champion Sulk (Selkirk), winner of the Prix Marcel Boussac (Gr1) at 2, placed in the Nassau Stakes (Gr1) and then in the Prix Royal- Oak (Gr1) …

Dawn Intello's older sister, Glamorous Thingie (Redoute’s Choice), bought out at Deauville sales, has won over the mile at Chantilly after winning four shorter races in Poland.

A yearling sister of Dawn Intello by Starspangledbanner, bought as a weanling for € 30,000 at Goffs Ireland, is in the next Tattersalls sales.
