Spotlight on the Qatar Prix de
l'Arc de Triomphe
Longchamp racecourse has the honour of hosting the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Yves Saint-Martin, an outstanding jockey and four-time winner of the Arc, is full of praise for this event: "Being in the starting line-up for the Arc is a performance in itself. Winning the Arc is the greatest victory that a jockey could hope to achieve". This race not only attracts the largest number of betters, it also enjoys the most media coverage and is recognised to be the most prestigious flat race in the world. The victory by Workforce in 2010 was watched on television by over a billion people and by 50,000 spectators at Longchamp racecourse!
CARACTERISTIQUES
17 hectares sont consacrés aux différentes pistes :
- La grande piste (2 750 mètres),
- La moyenne (2 500 mètres),
- La nouvelle (1 400 mètres),
- La petite (2 150 mètres),
- La ligne droite (1 000 mètres).
- 46 départs différents, parcours de 1 000 à 4 000 mètres.Ligne d'arrivée de 650m deuxième poteau.
- Contrôle filmé, stalles, 90 boxes...
