Baileys Coquette (Elusive City) opened her account in her last stride, beating the unraced Gally Jem (Acclamation) by a short head while rthe leading Morning Basma (Born to Sea) had to oblige in 3rd.

Baileys Coquette ran only 13 days earlier at Maisons-Laffitte over the same 7 furlongs trip but her closing styme wouldn't do on the tight left hand course favoring the front runners. She finished 4th, three lmengths behind the winning Zorro Cass.

Baileys Coquette is trained in Normandy by Jean-Vincent Toux foir the Baileys Stable, who also bred the filly at the Haras des Trois Chapelles, near Deauville. A pleasing 3rd for her debut behind Galouska, who didn't impress afterwards, and Hallucinante, recent 3rd in a Maisons-Laffitte maiden, Saccharose (Exceed and Excel) took her time but eventually prevailed here, beating the beginner Tropical Princess (Dabirsim), who took the lead at the open stretch in the inside.

A slosly run race with Dalma (Dubawi) leading the field to a stall. A closer finally got the last word though as Aleen (Mastercraftsman) finally prevaiuled although stopping when hitting the front, beating Impertinente (Redoute’s Choice), always behind the leaders after a long struggle.

Aleen was 5th for her debuts over 2,100 metres then 4th over 10 furlongs, but the longer distance certainly helped.
