Easy victory for English 4yo Ajman Princess for her first attempt at Gr1 level this season in Darley Prix Jean Romanet, on Sunday at Deauville.

Ajman Princess (Teofilo) easily won the Darley Prix Jean Romanet (Gr1), for 4+ mares over then furlongs, her first race at this level this season. Trained by Roger Varian for owner Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, and ridden by Andrea Atzeni, Ajman princess took the lead from the start and was never really challenged, keeping 2nd placed Siyoushake (Siyouni) at 1 1/4 length, as Left Hand (Dubawi) and Smart Call (Ideal World) fell just short of a short head to beat Siyoushake, a first timer over more than a mile. British favourite So Mi Dar (Dubawi), third for her return to Goodwood in the Nassau Stakes (Gr1), could not accelerate after galloping along the rail.
