Messagère (Saint des Saints) largely dominated the Haras d'Étreham Prix Sagan Hurdle race (Gr3), Sunday at Auteuil for her second trial after a winning debut over the same course. This time she came by in the back straight and even though she veered to the outside after the last jump, she put 5 lengths between her and her best rivals, Invincible Dina (Doctor Dino) and the favourite Aterisk (No Risk At All).

Bloodstock agent Gérard Larrieu (Chantilly Bloodstock) bought the yearling filly for € 30,000 at the Arqana Autumn sale, where she was consigned by the Haras de la Croix Sonnet. His dam No News (Gentlewave) won twice on the fat and also finished fifth in a Prix Fille de l'Air (Gr3) in Toulouse. She is herself out of Nickelle (Sagamix), third in this race after winning the Wild Monarch Hurdle race (L) for her debut at Auteuil. No Risk At All, Newness, N’Avoue Jamais, Nickname and Nom de d’là, a family bred by the Wildensteins.

Messagère is the first foal out of No News. She also gave Divination (Martaline), sold € 47,000 to Écurie Cerdeval at the 2018 Autumn sales, and a Kapgarde colt born in 2018. The mare was sold in Deauville in foal to Messagère for €135,000 in December 2015.

In addition to the € 54,000 offered to the winning owner, Gérard Larrieu also won a Masked Marvel nomination offered by Haras d'Étreham.
