National rollout of the McLloyd tracking system on French Premium courses

France Galop and its partner McLloyd announce the national rollout of the race sectional timing solution in all Premium flat and jumps racecourses in France from January 2021. This system will be implemented on all National meetings from the beginning of February 2021. France will thus be the first country to offer such broad coverage.

This technology was successfully trialled since 2019 at ParisLongchamp, Chantilly, Deauville and lately at Auteuil.

The latest additions, on January 14 and 15, 2021, where Lyon-La Soie and Marseille-Vivaux. Today, it was Cagnes-sur-Mer's turn. The tracking system will now be extended to Pau and Mont-de-Marsan.

After several years of study, McLloyd has developed a small sensor for which equips every competitor. It is adapted to the specific conditions of flat and jumps racing. The unparalleled precision of this miniaturized device allows the races to be fully experienced live, from the start to the finish line. Live and replay editing, with the instant running order and speed, is available on Equidia's screens. It is also made available to the racecourses and betting partners. At the end of every race, a full data report is published for every runner and posted in the official results on France Galop website.

Main dates

  • October 6, 2019: Inauguration of tracking for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe race at ParisLongchamp
  • November 2019: Deployment at Chantilly and Deauville racetracks
  • October 16, 2020: First obstacle course treated at Auteuil on the occasion of the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris.
  • January 14, 2021: Launch in Lyon-la Soie of the national deployment on the Premium Plat and Obstacle racetracks.
  • 2021: Target of 44 equipped Gallop racetracks, totaling nearly 600 meetings per year in France.
