July 14, 2022, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris). – The well-regarded Raclette (Frankel) finally won her first Group race in the 111th Prix de Malleret – Le Bonbon (Gr2), a €130,000 female-only version of the Grand Prix de Paris. The Juddmonte homebred, whose sire is also the Grand Prix winner's, proved to be the toughest after travelling by the front-running Fall In Love (Sea the Stars). She first repelled the favourite Baiykara (Zarak), who still managed to hold on, when Lastotchka (Myboycharlie), who had been held up after a fast start, came by the rail to challenge the eventual winner and failed by a head. Pushed again after looking overcome, Baiykara finished third at a short neck.

Raclette was bred by her owner, like her elder sister, the unraced Calming Effect (War Front), sold to the Yoshida family for £400,000 at the Tattersalls 2020 Breeding sale, aged 4. Their dam Emollient (Empire Maker) was raced in the USA, where she won 4 Gr1s. After giving Peace Charter (War Front) and Calming Effect, she gave three Frankel fillies and a colt named Ardent, now 2 and in training with Fabre too.

Khalid Abdullah bought a share of this great bloodline, hailing from the great Niarchos broodmare Coup de Génie, by purchasing, for $550,000, Emollient's dam, the maiden Soothing Touch (Touch Gold), sister to the US Group-placed Courtier (Pioneerofthenile) and Hofburg (Tapit).
