Easy win for Tasleya (Frankel) in a hot group of fillies. She followed Pauline (Siyouni), who took over two out, but ouclassed that rival as soon as Soumillon let her go. She went on to win by three and a half negths. Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, Tasleya is entered in the Prix du Calvados (Gr3). Her dam Mashoora (Barathea), who was sharing the same connections, also won for her debut in this race and she finished 2nd to Elusive Kate in the Prix du Calvados-Haras des Capucines. The winner was to win the Prix Marcel Boussac (Gr1) and the Prix Rothschild (Gr1, twice). As for Mashoora, she won the Prix Imprudence (Gr3) at 3 but was again beaten by Elusive Kate when 3rd in the Prix Rothschild.
Tasleya is the second foal out of Mashoora after an unraced horse. Mashoora also gave an Oasis Dream filly born in 2017.

Ridden early on on the stands' side, Peronne (Vespone) took the lead 300 yards out and resisted Pretty Boy (Siyouni)'s finish. 3rd-placed Wakeel (Dark Angel) also finished well in the center.
Peronne is Porza (Septième Ciel)'s eleventh foal, he's a full brother to Pornichet (Vespone), 3rd in the French 2,000 Guineas (Gr1) won in 2014 by Karakontie. He was later sent over to Australia where he has been a regular Group 1 feature.
Cirrus Minor (George Vancouver), Peronne's older sister, was withdrawn on July 13 at Tattersalls. She had been paid €80,000 at the Osarus yearling sales, wehn consigned by his breeder Hubert Honoré, of the haras d’Omméel.

Twice second over 8 and 7 furlongs before this third attempt over a longer distance, La Medicis (Medecis) made a very good impression in the last two furlongs of this maiden race. The favorite Miss Aiglonne (Dawn Approach) has long seemed to dominate the debates in the lead but she cracked in the last hundred meters after the winner had made her effort to win handily. Coming from afar, Dramatic Device (Dansili) finished second with her blinders on.
Bred in France by her owner John Goelet, La Medicis is the fourth foal out of Latona (Kendor), which has given only fillies for the moment. All have won. Latona herself won the Prix Saint-Georges (Gr3) and she is out of the very good Gr3 winner Silicon Lady (Mille Balles).

A brave victory almost from the word go for Adesias (George Vancouver) over Maisons-Laffitte straight course. Trained by Marine Henry, the filly held off Sicilia (Kingman) from the furlong pole and went on with her business quite professionnally.
Adesias is the 3rd foal out of Kel Away (Keltos), also trained by Marine Henry for Jean-Pierre-Daniel Ancelin, and her first winner. Kel Away won 4 times over the flat and raced once over hurdles. She achieved her best rating (77Lbs) in the Summer at 3 racing in handicaps.
Her trainer had secured her at Arqana for €4,500.

Unlucky at the start and pushed back along the field early on, Double Kodiac (Kodiac) still overtook the favourite Ecolo (Invincible Spirit) and beat him by 1 1/2 length.
He's the 1st foal out of Via Lattea (Teofilo), a Saint-Cloud winner for Moussac family for her debut over 7f in May at 3. The colt was sold as a yearling to Paul Basquin for €97,000, and sold again at the breeze up the following May for €120,000. His No Nay Never brother is in the coming Arqana August sale.

Just beaten at Chateaubriant in May, then 3rd to the good Folamour in June, Aviateur (Intense Focus) made quite an impression to score his first victory. Ridden by Stéphane Pasquier, he followed the leading Msaikah (Galileo) from the start but had to be checked before he could finally let go. Yet he produced an eyecatching acceleration to make up a few lengths and still took two lengths on the 2nd-placed Msaikah.
Aviateur is the 2nd foal out of Attachante (Teofilo) after dual-winner Amiral (Siyouni) and before Australien (Olympic Glory), in training with Matthieu Palussière after he was purchased as a yearling for €53,000 at Osarus by Con Marnane, then unsold €30,000 at Arqana breeze up sale in May.
Attachante is out of the good Abbatiale (Kaldoun), a Prix de Diane (Gr1) second behind Zainta, like Bewitched (Dansili), three times a Gr3-winner over 6 and 7 furlongs in Ireland.

Like a serious colt in this 13-strong field with plenty of green youngsters, Shaman (Shamardal) took the lead and stayed out of reach in the end of late finishers Flying Dragon (War Command) and Nordic Fire (Dream Ahead), respectively beaten 3/4 and over a length by the Carlos Laffon-Parias-trained winner.
Shaman is the 5th foal out of Only Green (Green Desert), a dual Listed race-winner over 7 furlongs and the leader of the champion mare Goldikova in premium races. Her first foal Green Sweet (Smart Strike) won the Prix Omnium II (L) and was exported to Australia. She also gave 2 other winners, Merikha (Shamardal) and You Alone (Frankel), both trained by André Fabre. After Shaman, she gave birth to Cordova, a daughter of Galileo. Only Green is also a sister to Occupandiste (Kaldoun), sire Intello (Galileo)'s 3rd dam.

A disorderly finish for these 11 beginners and a winning Rocques (Lawman) who long gave the impression that she wouldn'd be able to compete for the first place and yet digged deep to finally overcome Lega (Harbour Watch) and Simona (Siyouni), and kept a fast finishing Flaming Star (Captain Marvelous) at bay in the last strides.
Rocques cost €55,000 as a yearling but her older sister Romance d’Amour (Kendargent), who broke her maiden in June, was sold €70,000 in October 2016 to European Bloodstock Management. Their dam Regina Mundi (Montjeu) is Listed-placed over sur 2,000m and more in Italy.
Their Acclamation brother was sold last Winter as a weanling to Paul Nataf for €75,000 and he's in the Arqana August yearling sale in Deauville.
They all hail from the sprinting family of brothers Patavellian and Avonbridge, who both won the Prix de l’Abbaye (Gr1). Their 3rd dam is Rocques's 4th dam.

La Pergola (Penny’s Picnic) took over the leading favourite Survoltée (Helmet) in the last 100 yards. For the Mathieu Daguzan-Garros-bred filly, it was only a second race after her 4th place at Maisons-Laffitte, where Survoltée had beaten her by a length.
The filly was bought €19,000 by her trainer Stéphane Cérulis at the Arqana August sale, and her Wootton Bassett brother will follow the same route in a few weeks.
Their dam Elusive Queen (Elusive City) won twice in Southern France for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget before joining Mathieu Daguzan-Garros's mares band at the Haras des Granges, where she bred 5 foals.
Their 4th dam, US-bred Ancient Régime (Olden Times), won the Prix Morny (Gr1) in 1979 for the great American breeder and francophile Robin Scully, who bred a few black type performers from her.

One of the three beginners in this maiden race, Graignes (Zoffany) missed the start but was able to make up the lost ground by the 6-strong field over the straight course to beat the leading Kilfrush Memories (Shakespearean) on the wire.
Graignes was bought for €90,000 at Arqana breeze up sale in May by his trainer Yann Barberot and Augustin-Normand's agent Sylvain Vidal.
The colt had already changed hands for €50,000 at the previous Arqana October Sale. He's the first foal out of the unraced mare Grey Anatomy (Slickly), a sister to the Critérium de l’Ouest (L) winner Nova Step (Dubawi).
Since then, Grey Anatomy gave an Intello colt born in 2017.

One of the two beginners in the race, Insandi (Anodin) found himself behind the leader Granacci (Evasive), with Kenbaio (Kendargent) on his side. He then managed to join and take over Granacci before fending off Kenbaio's fast finish.
A close call but Insandi is the only beginner in the frame!
Insandi is the 6th foal out of Insan Mala (Bahhare) to visit Deauville's ring. A winner in Ireland at 2 and a Listed-winner Stateside, Insan Mala gave 8 foals including one by Manduro born a year after Insandi, who had been unsold at €42,000 at the August 2017 Arqana sale when consigned by the Haras de l’Hotellerie managed by Jean-Pierre and Guillaume Garçon.
Insandi is a brother to 8yo Courcy (Mizzen Mast), winner of 8 races and now in training in the French Caribbean.

A nice final sprint from Eudaimonia (Vision d’État) who had to take her time to finally find the gap but easily defeated a green Pretty Spirit (Invincible Spirit), who veered on her left in the last furlong, and Frankelio (Frankel), who looked like a potential winner at one stage but finally had to oblige in 3rd.
Sold €14,000 at Baden-Baden, Eudaimonia has a Siyouni sister sold €85,000 at Arqana August sale last year. Their Listed-winner dam Elenya (Lawman) is a sister to Seihali (Alzao), a Gr2-winner in Dubai.

4th to Pure Zen for her Saint-Cloud debut in June, finishing well, chestnut Olendon (Le Havre) once again took her time but found the energy to pip the long-leading Morning Basma (Born to Sea), only beaten a head.
A winner at Dax, her dam Talema (Sunday Break) gave three Le Havre foals after being paid €62,000 by Sylvain Vidal when in foal of her first foal. Olendon herself was paid €65,000 at Arqana in August last year.
Talema is a sister to Mambia (Aldebaran), a Prix du Calvados (Gr3) winner whose dam is a sister to the good stayer Incanto Dream (Galileo).
