Sunday 29 August 2021, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). - Favourite after his win in the Prix de Reux (Gr3), the dedicated prep race, Glycon (Le Havre) repeated on D-Day in the Lucien Barrière Grand Prix de Deauville (Gr2), which this year was contested for the 150th time in the final day fo the summer meeting on the Normandy Coast. The Haras de Saint-Pair homebred travelled in fourth place along this field of 5 runners. He made his move at the beginning of the last straight and fought to the end to resist a very brave The Good Man (Manduro), finally second at half a length, three weeks after finishing fifth in the “Reux” for his comeback.

Sublimis (Shamardal) took a little time to reach momentum and he finished third at a short neck.

Before winning the Prix de Reux, Glycon finished 6th twice in the Prix d'Harcourt (Gr2) and La Coupe (Gr3). He's out of Glorious Sight (Singspiel), a daughter of the excellent Zelding (Warning), who was second in the French IOne Thousand Guineas won by Golden Lila in 2011 for RC Strauss, and was then sold €1.7m at the Arqana Arc sale. She also gave a Dubawi filly sold for £ 450,000 at Newmarket, where Haras de Saint-Pair sold her in 2019. A Siyouni filly was born in 2020.
