June 12, 2021, Auteuil Racecourse (Paris). - Six years after winning the race for the second consecutive year as a rider, partnering Carlita du Berlais, David Cottin now adds another Haras d’Etreham Sagan 3-year-old fillies Hurdle race (Gr3) to his tally as a trainer. However, it wasn't his most favoured runner in this first 3-year-old fillies hurdling championship at this level who prevailed, but her stablemate, as Matilda du Berlais (Martaline) couldn't give 8lbs to her stablemate La Boétie (Saint des Saints) in a race led by the good AQPS filly Itours Brun (Free Port Lux) over 3,500m/17.5f.

Without her penalty, Matilda could very well have won since she was beaten by only three parts of a length, with Itours Brun third at a further 8 lengths.

La Boétie was bred by trotting horsemaster Jean-Pierre Dubois. She's owned by Écurie Zingaro, associated with Jean-Pierre Dubois, Écurie du Roebeck & Marine Pineda. Already a winner over hurdles at Fontainebleau and then Compiègne, she was beaten by 10 lengths by Matilda du Berlais in the Haras d’Étreham Iena 3-year-old fillies Hurdle race (L) for her Auteuil debut. La Boétie's dam, La Buenaventura (Monsun), was bred in the USA and won once over the flat at Tarbes for Jean-Pierre Dubois. La Boétie is her 4th foal and her first winner. A Martaline colt was bred in 2019.
