MAGNY COURS (C2), USA by Medaglia d’Oro ex Indy Five Hundred (A P Indy)
Prix des Daguets (Unraced C&G2, 1,600m AW), November 21, Chantilly

Owner : Godolphin
Trainer : André Fabre
Breeder : Godolphin
Rider : Mickaël Barzalona

6/10 favourite in a nine beginners' field, Magny Cours (Medglia d’Oro) couldn't wait to go and Mickaël Barzalona has had a hard time checking the youngstr before steering forward to score by three lengths ahead of another promising juvenile, Julian Rock (Invincible Spirit).

Magny Cours is a brother to Ecliptic (Kingmambo), 2yo winner of the Superlative Stakes (Gr2) in Britain, but their dam Indy Five Hundred (A P Indy), a Grade 1 winner on turf Stateside, didn't give much in between.

She's the best foal out of Nassau Stakes (Gr2 back then) winner Lyphard’s Delta (Lyphard), trained by Henry Cecil and the 2nd dam of US champion filly Royal Delta (Empire Maker), who made $8.5m at Keeneland in 2011 when Desilu Stable acquired her as a broodmare prospect. Mated to Galileo, she was barren, then aborted, adn finally died when foaling a filly last Winter.

PARA EL FUTURO (F2), (FR) by Maxios ex Paragua (Nayef)
Prix des Biches (Unraced 2F, 1,600m AW), November 21, Chantilly

Owner : Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges
Trainer : Nicolas Clément
Breeder : Gestüt Fahrhof
Rider : Laura Grosso

Kept in rear until entering the last straight, Para El Futuro (Maxios) was given plenty of time to move to the center of the track by appretice female rider Laura Grosso (hence a Lbs9 allowance) to go ahead behind On My Mind (High Chaparral), whomshe finally defeated by three parts of a lengths while the early movers were slowing down inside. Vespera (Teofilo) finished 6th without being given a chance to find a gap. On My Mind also benefitted from the Lbs9 allowance as her rider Mickaelle Michel is an apprentice too.

Para El Futuro (Maxios) was born in Calvados but she's not aligible to the French Premiums since she was exported with her dam. She was bought €80,000 by agent Crispin de Moubray at the yearlings BBAG sale in Baden for Hong Kong Jockey Club CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges. Para El Futuro is out of Paragua (Nayef), winner of two races in Germany, and a sister to 2004 Critérium de Saint-Cloud (Gr1) winner and Prix de Diane (Gr1) 3rd Paita (Intikhab).

Paragua also has a 2016 colt by Olympic Glory.

EMERALD MASTER (C2), GER by Mastercraftsman ex Emerald Art (Excellent Art)
Prix Kantar (Maiden C&G2, 2,000m), November 24, Saint-Cloud

Owners : David Baum et Sebastian Weiss
Trainer : Mario Hofer
Breeder : Gestüt Brummerhof
Rider : Christophe Soumillon

17 juveniles gathered in this 1m1/4 long maiden for the very last Parisian Turf meeting of the season. The race went to Germany however since Emerald Master (Mastercraftsman) is trained by Mario Hofer.

Twice before the colt had finished 2nd in Düsseldorf and Münich, over the mile on both occasions. The longer distance might have done the trick as he outstayed the beginner Rabdan (Frankel), 2nd in front of My Lenny (Youmzain), who also did well for his 2nd trial.

The winning colt was bought yearling at the Baden-Baden sales, for €35,000. His 3rd dame, French sprinter Greenway (Targowice), is also the 3rd dam of champion Irish mare Alexander Goldrun (Gold Away). Emerald Master's dam Emerald Art (Excellent Art), on the other hand, left racing a maiden. That's her 1st foal. She's a sister to German champion stayer Royal Rebel (Robellino), an Ascot Gold Cup (Gr1) winner, and to Guernica (Unfuwain), dam of Getaway (Monsun), Grosser Preis von Baden (Gr1) winner, and of champion Guadalupe (Monsun), who gave the latest Grosser Preis von Baden (Gr1) winner Guignol (Cape Cross).

BEYOND DANCE (F2),  IRE by Wootton Bassett ex Juvenil Delinquent (Dynaformer)
Prix Pharsale (Maiden 2F, 2,000m), November 24, Saint-Cloud

Owner : Gérard Thomas Ryan
Trainers : Markus et Stéphanie Nigge
Breeder : Maurice Byrne
Rider : Tony Piccone

Beyond Dance (Wootton Bassett) was the pick of the paddock after her promising 4th place for her debut over Deauville's all weather. She was very brave this time to hold off Malakite (Rock of Gibraltar), who loomed two furlongs out but wasn't able to catch the leading filly. Both had taken the longer route outside in the back straight behind Proud and Elated (Makfi), who vanished in the last straight and let her followers argue for the spoils.

Beyond Dance cost €20,000 at the yearlings Goffs Ireland sale. She's out of Juvenil Delinquent (Dynaformer), a handicap winner at Vittel, who went on to take an allowance at Saint-Cloud for trainer Nicolas Clément. She went straight out to stud that same year and gave three colts before Beyond Dance, including Fast Buck (Kendargent), who won a lower handicap at Lyon-La Soie in October.
