August 28, 2022, Deauville-La Touques Racecourse (Calvados). – Another British exacta in a Group 3 at Deauville this Summer as the 80,000 Barrière Prix Quincey (Gr3) is swooped by Tempus (Kingman) at the expense of Internationalangel (Dark Angel). After following the leader In Crowd (Dubawi) away from the stands’ side, Tempus took over two out and then handily contained his rival filly, who finally let go to finish at almost two lengths, even though the winner was carrying a 4lbs penalty for his recent Gr3-win at Salisbury.
Trained in Lambourn by Archie Watson, Tempus is a 6-year-old gelding bred by Juddmonte and sold for just £25,000 at the 2021 August sales at Tattersalls after winning four races for trainer Roger Charlton and being gelded. Tempus is out of Passage of Time (Dansili), a winner of the Critérium de Saint-Cloud (Gr1), and also placed in the Vermeille and the Nassau... She also gave Time Test (Dubawi), a multiple Group winner, and since then, a Lope de Vega 2-year-old filly still unraced and a yearling colt by Too Darn Hot.
