Sunday, 7 April 2024, ParisLongchamp Racecourse (Paris) – Ten fillies lined up for the 9 furlongs of the €80,000 Al Shira’Aa Racing Prix Vanteaux (Gr3), a potential step towards the Prix de Diane Longines (French Oaks, Gr1) in ten weeks. On a very heavy ground, the favourite La Mandala (City Light) quickly faded in the straight after leading, while Dare to Dream (Camelot), on the contrary, seemed to find renewed energy as she gradually pulled away from the pack to win by two lengths over Almara (Almanzor), the only one able to keep up with her in the final phase after running alongside the leader. Coming from behind, Survie (Churchill) finished in third place more than three lengths behind.

Out for six months, Dare to Dream was competing in her fourth race. Winning her debut at Deauville last summer in the Prix de la Reboursière, she then finished 4th in the Prix d’Aumale (Gr3) and 3rd in the Stafford Stud Stakes (Gr3) over the mile in Ireland.

Bred by Ecurie des Monceaux, Meridian International, and Scuderia Waldeck, the filly races for owner Dun Shing Lee.

Dare to Dream was purchased for €67,000 at the Deauville sales by her trainer, Gavin Hernon. Her dam Debutante (Gold Away) is a sister to champion Danedream (Lomitas), winner of an Arc de Triomphe. Only placed in a Listed race, she has produced two winners and was herself sold in foal to Zelzal for €34,000 at Deauville in December to A-Turf. A filly by Sea the Stars born in 2022 was sold for €260,000 last summer to Sumbe and is in training with Jean-Claude Rouget. A filly by Zelzal bred by Gestüt Ittlingen was born in 2023.

Dare to Dream is entered in the Prix de Diane Longines.
