Saint-Cloud opens this Saturday, March 30 to six runners in the Prix Edmond Blanc (Gr3), a weight-for-age event over a mile often used to heat up towards the Prix du Muguet (Gr2), ran each May 1 in similar conditions and on the same venue.
One runner stands out this year, as Olmedo (Declaration of War) won last year's French 2,000 Guineas (Gr1) before being beaten twice and get his career halted by back issues.
This representative of Antonio Caro and Gerard Augustin-Normand, trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, will, therefore, make his comeback against five opponents including The Revenant (Dubawi), who has just won for his return on this course in the Prix Altipan (L). Second in the Prix Rothschild (Gr1) last year, while trained in England by Charlie Appleby, Crown Walk (Dubawi) also makes her comeback and debut under French trainer Henri-Alex Pantall's watch.
Also on the card are three races of beginners, including a first of its kind for 2 years-old on the 900 meters of the Prix du Début ...
