Vaccination against Equine Herpes Virus now mandatory to race in France

We remind you that France Galop has made mandatory, in addition to the Flu vaccination, the vaccination against Equine Herpes Virus sickness through the rules of racing since the 1st of January 2018. In order to reduce the economic impact, the vaccination protocol adopted is the same protocol as for flu vaccination: Primary course between 21-92 days, 1st booster between 150-215 days and an annual booster (less than 1 year).

This obligation applies to all horses declared in training in France and those which will race in France, even if they are in training out of France.

To enable everyone to achieve compliance with the Rules of Racing of France Galop, an extension is granted until March 31st 2018 to proceed with the primary course for horses whose are not yet vaccinated in accordance with our rules. After this date, the horses not vaccinated against Flu and Equine Herpes Virus sickness in accordance with Articles 135 and 136 of the French Rules of Racing will not be allowed to race in France.
