The Prix de Craon (Gr1-AQPS) is the halfbred AQPS's Arc. Run over a mile and a half at ParisLongchamp, the race went Wednesday to 4yo gelding Etatix (Vision d'État), who came by outside the field to score decisively by 2 1/2 lentghs. Homebred by Catherine Villaud-Ameline in the West of France, Etatix is trained in Senonnes by Alain Couétil. He now has four wins for five outings this year and had recently scored at Clairefontaine in the Prix des Buveurs d'Air, another AQPS big bumper. The acronym AQPS means « Autre que pur-sang » (other than thoroughbred). The race promotes a jumpers' breed through its own stud book created in 2005.
Etatix's dam is Rush Tercah (Laveron), also co-bred by Mrs. Villaud-Ameline. She entered stud after thirteen unsuccessful attempts, one over hurdles.
Etatix is her first foal. She then gave a colt by Falco born in 2016. Her own dam Rosa River (Down the River) had also finished his career without a win but with five second places in seven outings ... In contrast, she gave Royal Winner (Smadoun), a winner at Auteuil under the famous Gilbert Gallot colours, and Jau Lee (Le Nain Jaune), winner of a single hurdle race in 32 attempts.
