DIAMOND VENDOME (C2), FRA by Style Vendôme ex Ordargent (Kendargent)
Prix d’Auquainville (2yo C&G Maiden, 1,200m Turf), August 4, Deauville

Owner : Guy Pariente
Trainer : Christophe Ferland
Breeder : Guy Pariente Holding
Rider : Julien Augé

A gutsy first for Diamond Vendôme who finally overcame beginner True Romance (George Vancouver) at his second attempt as Julien Augé had to check him about one furlong out to finally win by a head.

Diamond Vendome a 100% Pariente bred since his sire, Style Vendôme, a French 2,000 Guineas winner for André de Ganay and Christian Baillet, had been sold by the Haras de Colleville's breeder in Deuville while his dam, the unraced mare Ordargent, was also bred by Guy Pariente holding.

Before foaling Diamond Vendôme, she gave Samuna (Samum), twice a winner at 2 and second to eventual classic winner Brametot in the Critérium de Bordeaux (L) before being exported Stateside. Her brother by Style Vendôme, hence a three parts brother to Diamond Vendôme, is listed in Arqana August sales in Deauville.

YORI (F2), IRE by Kodiac ex Yashila (Indian Haven)
Prix de Pretreville (2yo Fillies maiden, 1,200m Turf), August 4, Deauville

Owner : Karl-Heinz Schultze
Trainer : Pavel Vovchenko
Breeder : Tally Ho Stud
Rider : Anthony Crastus

Purchased £30,000 by her owner at the Goffs Breeze Up sales in April, Yori was second for her debut in Germany, where she's trained, before finishing 7th in the Prix du Bois (Gr3). She went on by winning this by a very narrow margin but bravely enough as she answered every call in the last two furlongs here. She had taken over halfway and never resigned to win by a very short head indeed, beating Love and Peace (Linngari).

Yori's 3rd dam Florissa (Persepolis), born in 1986, was exported to Belgium, where she won at 2 before giving 6 winners in the bristish Isles, France and Spain, including Tara’s Girl (Fayruz), her best foal to date and Yori's 2nd dam, Listed placed in Britain and 4th in the Queen Mary Stakes (Gr3). She gave Ashram (Indian Haven), Gr3 winner at 2 at Newmarket over 7 furlongs, a full brother to Yashila, Yori's dam, who won her maiden at 3 over Kempton's fibresand track.
